- Evan said that he doesn't dance.
- Male Figure Skating has more emphasis on athleticism of movement rather than grace.
- He said that dancing requires opposite rotation than Skating. Having to unlearn his natural rotation could be confusing for a while.

4. Aiden Turner (Soap Opera Star) & Edyta Sliwinska
- I'm guessing that he's had a wide variety of acting that must have included some dance training. Previous Soap actors Kelly Monaco won Season One, and Cameron Mathison finished in 5th Place in Season 5.

It seems like only yesterday that Donny Osmond waltzed offstage with the famous mirror ball trophy. Well, time flies. A hop, skip and an Olympics later we're ready for a new season. This week our would-be champions danced the cha-cha-cha and the Viennese waltz. High honors fell to the jocks, Olympic gold medalist Evan Lysacek and ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews. The best performance of the night, however, was a waltz by former Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger. Talk about a bad girl makeover! She and Derek were all sweetness and light out on the floor.

Of course, not everyone dazzled. Niecy Nash was a little too goofy for her own good and astronaut Buzz Aldrin should stick with the moonwalk rather than trying to cha-cha-cha. Soap star Aiden Turner got no love from the judges for his "sexy" dance and Kate Gosselin waltzed her way down the scoreboard.
Here's the dirt on all the stars' performances:

Chad Ochocinco
Okay, there's a football player on pretty much every season of the show ... but has there ever been one like Chad Ochocinco? The NFL's ultimate showboat opened the season with an absolutely amazing cha-cha-cha. His footwork isn't perfect yet, but he more than makes up with it in attitude. The judges had some harsh words for Chad and Cheryl, but they couldn't hide their smiles. You could bet on a worse champion.
Score: 18/30

Shannen Doherty
The wicked witch of "90210" and "Charmed" turned in a surprisingly sweet Viennese waltz. She had a little trouble with her footwork and one of her holds and lost the thread of the routine toward the end. Still, the judges commended her for soldiering through such a challenging routine in the first week of competition. The show clearly means a lot to Shannen -- her dad's a big fan -- and she's obviously willing to work hard. Don't count her out just yet.

Erin Andrews
Rumors are already flying that this lovely sportscaster is dating her partner Maks. If they're not actually dating ... they probably will be soon. There was definitely a lot of sizzle during their cha-cha. Erin has great rhythm and her footwork was quite good, but her arm movements are just a little bit out of sync and she holds her shoulders too stiffly. There's plenty of room for improvement, but she's off to a great start.

Jake Pavelka
Okay, Jake was on "The Bachelor," we get it. Between the rose he carried out onstage, Chelsie's dress (pink) and the music ("A Kiss From a Rose") they waltzed to there's no way anyone could be left wondering about his pedigree. Poor guy. Luckily, his dancing was not half bad. All of the raw material is there: rhythm, footwork and, maybe most important, fluidity. Jake does need to stand up straighter, though. His posture was pretty bad. Chelsie Hightower has a history of making passable dancers out of the unlikeliest guys, so I'll be interested to see what Jake does next week.

Niecy Nash
We saw Niecy eating a cheeseburger just before we cut to commercial before her routine. Antics! (Just for the record, I would totally be willing to cha-cha if I got to eat a cheeseburger first.) As good as it is to laugh, the show is about dancing. Niecy put in a valiant effort on the dance floor, but her rhythm was way, way off. Len complained about the oversimplicity of Niecy and Louis's routine, and for once I agree with the old grouch. Let's hope Niecy has a very active fan club. She dedicated her performance to "big girls everywhere," so maybe that will help.

Evan Lysacek
Our poor judges! They really had to struggle to find anything bad to say about Olympic figure skating champion Evan's magical waltz. Carrie Ann told him to point his toes. Len rather enigmatically advised Evan and Anna to "get chemistry between the two of you," and Bruno agreed. While it may take time for Evan to adjust to sharing the stage with his partner Anna, he's clearly got all the right moves.

Buzz Aldrin
Well, the good thing about walking on the moon is that it doesn't really matter if you mess things up after that. Things like ... the cha-cha-cha. Although Buzz certainly had his moments out on the floor there were other moments when he just kind of stood there. It wasn't pretty to watch. It's hard to imagine Buzz will take another turn on the floor.

Nicole Scherzinger
Nicole's waltz was, in a word, transcendent. I really don't think I've ever seen such a beautiful routine in the first week of competition, and Carrie Ann said pretty much the same thing. (And she obviously knows more than I do.) Len freaked out about Derek's choreography like he does every season, but he somehow also decide to yell -- yes, yell! -- at Nicole for some supposedly sloppy footwork and a lack of musicality. Whatever, Len. This girl's got massive star power.

Aiden Turner
Soap star Aiden seems to be going for the whole sexy Gilles Marini angle. Unfortunately, it didn't work for him. His cha-cha-cha felt gimmicky rather than fresh. His footwork was passable, but his sense of rhythm is pretty basic. Len said the routine was "full of everything I don't like." (The million dollar question, of course, is what on Earth does Len like?) Aiden was not great, but he probably deserved a little more love from the judges. Will the audience step in and save him?

Kate Gosselin
Reality TV's most stressed out mom looked ... pretty stressed out on the floor tonight. There's dancing a waltz, and then there's letting a waltz dance you. Kate moved gracefully, but her footwork was awfully basic. The routine itself was pretty, but certainly not as technically accomplished as Nicole or Evan's Viennese waltzes. It's hard to see Kate in this competition for the long haul.

Pamela Anderson
What can I say, she plays to her strength. Pamela's routine was fast, loose and almost -- but not quite -- out of control. Her footwork was pretty good and her rhythm was great. More to the point, though, her stage presence was pretty powerful. Both Bruno and Carrie Ann were pretty much besides themselves, giggling through critique. Len, on the other hand, is not distracted by célébrité (or sex tapes) and ragged on Pamela's technique. She probably won't win it all, but she'll have fun trying.

Dancing With The Stars, Season 10, Week 2 - Dance Night, March 29th.

The 80 year old former astronaut tried his best, but once again finished with the lowest score: 4+4+4=12.

Kate Gosselin got her partner Tony angry enough to quit on her during this week's training. He got angry with her resisting his instructions and her for insisting that he doesn't listen to her complaints. Is this how she behaved in Jon & Kate Plus 8? Tony came back after a while to apologise - The producers probably told him to cool off.

It's getting serious on "Dancing With the Stars." Even though we're still in the first round of competition, the gap between the haves and the have-nots is widening. We saw fantastic jives from former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger and Olympic figure skater Evan Lysacek and a frankly awful foxtrot from astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Kate Gosselin turned in a stumbling and frenzied jive, but the big surprise of the night was Chad Ochocinco's fall from grace. Vegas oddsmakers placed him third in the pack after last week's premiere, but he scored only a point higher than Buzz for his robotic foxtrot.

Here's a bit of trivia for you die-hards: During rehearsal, Nicole and Derek griped a little about the song that the producers assigned them for the jive. Turns out that neither the professional dancers nor the celebrities get to pick the songs they dance to! Ten seasons and we're still learning about the rules!

Shannen Doherty
The jive is one of the hardest dances in the competition, because it's fast, fast, fast but technically quite complicated. For the second week in a row the former "90210" star and her partner Maks opted for a difficult routine rather than keeping it simple. Shannen did pretty well: her energy was good and she almost kept up with Maks. Carrie Ann pointed out that she was a little fast on some of her steps, and she also made a few missteps in the middle of the routine.

Aiden Turner
The foxtrot is supposed to be smooth and elegant, and soap star Aiden pulled that off. His rhythm was good, as well as his footwork ... but the routine was awfully Mickey Mouse. Like last week's cha-cha, it was lacking in spirit. Bottom line, Aiden's going to have to try a lot harder if he wants to stay out on the dance floor.

Evan Lysacek
Wow! Once again, Evan turned in a stellar performance. His jive looked effortless, and yet the routine was full of tricky choreography. (We saw not one but two jump-splits!) Obviously Evan has an advantage coming into this competition from the not totally dissimilar arena of figure skating, but that still doesn't explain his stage presence or the way he just seems to belong on the dance floor. It's like there's a magnetic field between him and the mirror ball trophy they must keep backstage somewhere.

Niecy Nash
Last week's cha-cha was pretty nuh-uh, and I was ready to count our resident comedian out of this competition. Well, I'm happy to be wrong. Her foxtrot was restrained and elegant and yet not at all lacking in personality. Niecy's carriage was fantastic and her rhythm and footwork were right on. She gets a lot of mileage out of her quips and general goofballery, and that must be rubbing off on her partner Louis ... who got down on one knee and offered her a mock engagement ring at the end of their routine. Let's hope these antics will pay off where votes are concerned -- even though Niecy's foxtrot was a vast improvement over last week's cha-cha she's still pretty far down on the leaderboard.

Jake Pavelka
The "Bachelor" star and his partner Chelsie really butted heads over the choreography of this routine. She wants to push him to be a better dancer, and he wants to do the white man's overbite. This wasn't a great dance, but it wasn't bad. Jake's footwork was pretty good, though he did spend a lot of time staring at his feet, and he did a good job following Chelsie's lead without being totally dominated by her. Chelsie has an impressive track record of coaching fish out of water partners up to the middle of the leaderboard. Remember what she did with Ty Murray? So I'd hate to see her and Jake get knocked out this early.

Buzz Aldrin
What can I say about Buzz's foxtrot? I ... liked his bowtie. Bottom line, the former astronaut cannot dance at all, not even a little bit. Once again the judges were at a loss. Carrie Ann praised his emotion, Len mumbled something about inspiration and Bruno made a bunch of weird jokes about walking on the moon and then said, "It was nice to have you." That got him booed. Well, with a total score of 26 it would take an entire telethon's worth of votes to keep Buzz around.

Nicole Scherzinger
This girl can dance! Nicole's jive was absolutely electric. The routine was so difficult in could have fairly been called punishing, but Nicole totally owned it. Honestly, watching her on the floor it was hard to tell who was the teacher and who was the student. As usual, Len freaked out about Derek's choreography. These two have been locked in a never-ending battle of wills for pretty much the entire run of "Dancing With the Stars." Luckily our saner judges saw the light and awarded Nicole perfect 10s.

Erin Andrews
It was a little jarring to see tomboy Erin dressed up like a pretty pretty princess, but she turned in a fantastic foxtrot. She started off with a gutsy solo and followed through with a poise, elegant and emotion. Erin still has a slight stiffness to her carriage, but other than that she's got the whole ballroom dancing thing down. I can’t wait to see what she does next week.

Pamela Anderson
The notorious P.A.M. turned in another impressive performance. Her Marilyn Monroe-inspired foxtrot was polished and yet playful -- as well as quite ladylike. Her footwork was good, though Len called her out on her posture. Damian and Pam have nice chemistry on the floor, and that should help them throughout the competition. At the same time, the choreography of both this week's foxtrot and last week’s cha-cha was pretty basic. Pam should take her cue from Shannen Doherty and push herself a little bit harder if she really wants to win this thing.

Chad Ochocinco
After a promising cha-cha last week, Chad turned in a lackluster foxtrot. His footwork wasn’t terrible but his movements were just a little bit too slow careful, which made him seem a little bit like Frankenstein out on the floor. The judges came down pretty hard on Chad and Cheryl in critique and followed that up with a real paddling. A sixteen hurts.

Kate Gosselin
Tony and Kate nearly came to blows in rehearsals for this week's jive. In fact, Tony walked out on her at one point. (I'm not going to make any obvious divorce jokes here, thank you very much.) The tension was palpable in rehearsal and it was even more palpable out on the floor. Kate simply couldn't keep up with Tony. And Tony didn't seem like he cared much. Her footwork was bad, her rhythm was bad and her stage presence was nil. The judges had nothing nice to say, and Bruno's Stepford Wife comment was a new low even for him. Let's hope Kate has a big fan base.

Talk about an upset! Shannen Doherty will be joining her ex-husband Ashley Hamilton in the "Dancing With the Stars" notorious Losers Club. Her technically challenging jive and difficult waltz placed her firmly in the middle of the leaderboard at the close of Monday's show, but we all know that anything can happen at the polls.

It's hard to see someone who worked her tail feather off during rehearsals sent away so soon, especially since Shannen was dancing in her dad's honor. Shannen improved a lot between the first and second week of competition, and I really would have liked to see what she could do given more time. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

We've still got ten celebrities ready to dance next week away. Here's who's left in the game, in the order that Tom and Brooke called their names:

Buzz Aldrin
I'm not sure whether Buzz is getting votes out of sympathy, patriotism or solidarity, but he's definitely getting them. Both his foxtot and his cha-cha were downright awful, but he'll be back again next week.

Aiden Turner
Never underestimate the fans of "All My Children." Although he's not much of a dancer -- he turned in a bumpy cha-cha last week and a lackluster foxtrot on Monday night -- Aiden stays in the picture.

Niecy Nash
She may not be topping the leaderboard, but I'll be glad to see Niecy back for another round of competition. The resident comedian has proven that she's up for more than just gags. This week's sweeping, elegant foxtrot was a vast improvement over last week's cha-cha.

Evan Lysacek
Between his tricky but catchy jive and his commanding, elegant waltz, the Olympic figure skater has been a real contender so far. Will he knock Nicole off her pedestal next week?

Jake Pavelka
Our "Bachelor" star could be a diamond in the rough, especially with determined coach Chelsie Hightower as his partner. Jake's jive was a definite improvement over last week's waltz, but he still has a long way to go as a dancer.

Nicole Scherzinger
The former Pussycat Doll and her partner turned in an absolutely electric jive this week -- and it was just as good during tonight's encore. Nicole's waltz was as beautiful and elegant as her jive was high-stepping and energetic. She can do it all!

Erin Andrews
Her spare and elegant foxtrot was a revelation to both the audience and the judges. The ESPN sportscaster also showed her saucier side in last week's cha-cha, proving she can do spice as well as sugar. Expect great things.

Chad Ochocinco
Vegas oddsmakers had our football star third in line for the mirror ball trophy after his promising debut waltz, but this week's foxtrot fell flat. Will Chad pull it together next week? He's certainly got a competitive spirit, so I say yes.

Kate Gosselin
It's been a bumpy road for the reality TV star. Between her onstage jitters and her backstage battles with partner Tony it's been more about the drama than the dancing. Of course, the dancing hasn't been great. Kate's definitely going to have to tone down the attitude and practice her steps if she wants to stay in the game.

Pamela Anderson
The "Baywatch" beauty turned in an impressive Marilyn Monroe-inspired foxtrot last night and a daring cha-cha last week, so it was a shock to see her and Damian land in the bottom two. So what's the deal? She's gorgeous, she's got moves ... and apparently America hates her.

The second week of competition saw our celebrities take on the waltz, the paso doble and the quickstep. They were also asked to tell a story with their routines, which worked out better for some of the dancers than others. All told, it was a low-scoring night. Evan topped the leaderboard with a 26 for his 1920's-style quickstep and Nicole and Erin tied for second with 23's. Buzz Aldrin turned in another lackluster performance -- but will this matter to his many fans? Kate Gosselin gave what will probably be the most talked-about performance of the week, a stiff paso doble meant to indict the paparazzi who make her miserable on a daily basis. Unfortunately, the message got a bit garbled in translation.

Here's the rundown of this week's routines and the judges' scores:

Evan Lysacek
This quirky flapper-tastic quickstep didn't have much of a story -- um, the girl is late and the guy is a bit annoyed about it -- but it more than made up for it in style. Evan and Anna were really in sync and looked like they were having a great time out on the floor. Two of the judges mentioned that Evan's footwork was a little off. It couldn't have been too far off, because his scores were fantastic.
Score: 26/30


Buzz Aldrin
I would love to tell you that Buzz's waltz was an improvement over last week's foxtrot, but it wasn't. He alternately stood still and shuffled around with Ashly in a basic box step. At least the story angle worked: Buzz played a soldier returning from war to be reunited with his daughter. Now, I understand why you all keep voting for self-styled "patriotic geezer" Buzz, but votes do not a dancer make.
Score: 13/30


Jake Pavelka
His Indiana Jones meets Cleopatra quickstep was a real crowd pleaser. Jake's execution might have left a little bit to be desired, but for the first time in this competition he seemed to be enjoying himself out on the floor. Len did warn him about his "soft knees," but also praised the routine's entertainment value. Dude, that's probably the best you'll ever get from cranky old Len.

Niecy Nash
Forbidden love was the theme of this elegant, emotional waltz, and Niecy was moved to tears. Unfortunately, we found out the theme because Niecy and Louis discussed it in rehearsal footage, not because it was crystal clear out on the floor. Niecy was working hard tonight, but the choreography may have been a little bit too much for her. There was a point where she faltered trying to keep both feet on the floor during a hold. (As we know, lifts are verboten!)

Chad Ochocinco
After last week's disastrous foxtrot, Chad's bullfighting-themed paso doble was a breath of fresh air. He was focused, fully present and his footwork and rhythm were both downright fantastic. Chad and Cheryl had great chemistry out on the floor. The judges warned Chad that his posture needs work. I agree -- though it must be rough being a whole head taller than your partner.
Score: 20/30


Pamela Anderson
The "Baywatch" beauty was in the bottom two last week and her angry paso doble probably won't help her stock. From a technical perspective, the dance was good. The story -- anti-bullfighting gypsy confronts a bullfighter -- was a bit muddled and the choreography was scattered. The judges praised Pam's dancing but didn't seem to love the routine as a whole. Let's hope that Pam's fans will make an effort for her this time around.
Score: 21/30


Aiden Turner
Our soap star showed his chops with a jaunty quickstep. Aiden's footwork and frame were much better than in previous routines, plus he actually smiled a little bit. The story element -- a painter's dream girl comes to life -- was cool, but clashed a bit with the music. This routine was Aiden's best effort to date in this competition, but it still didn't thrill the judges.
Score: 20/30


Erin Andrews
Her silky smooth, jaw-dropping waltz took the whole "trust your partner" thing to a new level -- Erin spent most of the routine wearing a blindfold. The audience went crazy ... and so did Len. Crazy with rage. He said the routine was too long and had "the most boring start" he had ever seen. Carrie Ann and Bruno were a little more tempered in their criticisms -- and with their scoring paddles.

Kate Gosselin
The paso doble is all about aggression, and we know Kate's got that in spades. (In fact, we saw her go crazy on a punching bag during rehearsal.) Unfortunately, she just wasn't able to channel her rage into her and Tony's anti-paparazzi routine. Between Kate's stiff posture and her off-rhythm footwork the whole effect was more "Thriller" zombie than thrilling.

Nicole Scherzinger
Trouble in paradise! Nicole and Derek danced a witty, energetic vaudeville-inspired quickstep that broke all the rules. It was definitely the most fun dance of the evening, but the judges are there to keep this whole thing honest. There was a lift in the middle as well as a (deliberately?) broken hold. These infractions made Len even angrier than he was after Erin and Maks's waltz, and that's saying something. Let's hope Nicole will color inside the lines next week.

Buzz Aldrin wasn't one of the better dancers this show has seen, but audience votes saw him safely through the first elimination. Lightning doesn't usually strike twice however. Although Buzz brought a certain noble bearing to this week's waltz he just couldn't compete with his fellow contestants' moves. The former astronaut will be missed!Kate Gosselin, who scored almost as poorly as Buzz this week, didn't end up in the bottom two. That dubious honor went to "Bachelor" star Jake Pavelka, who seems like he's just getting warmed up. This season has certainly been full of surprises.

Here are the remaining contenders in the order their names were called:


Aiden Turner
Our soap star gets my vote for most improved this week. The quickstep is one of the toughest dances in the competition and he pulled it off with aplomb. His footwork and frame were much better than in previous routines, plus he actually smiled a little bit. I'm not counting Aiden out just yet.


Erin Andrews
She spent most of her waltz wearing a blindfold -- talk about trust! The audience went crazy for the routine, but Len's low score meant that Erin tied with Nicole for second place. I'm not too worried about Erin, though. She works hard and really takes the judges' criticisms to heart. The sky's the limit for our ultra-competitive sportscaster!


Niecy Nash
Her moving waltz impressed the audience and judges alike this week. It was interesting to see Niecy's serious side: no jokes, no props, just moves. The comedian really seems to be finding her way in this competition.


Nicole Scherzinger
Rules are made to be broken ... except on "Dancing With the Stars." Nicole danced a witty, energetic vaudeville-inspired quickstep that included both a broken hold and a lift. This may not have been her week, but I'm not worried: Nicole has what it takes to win this thing.


Evan Lysacek
His 1920's-style quickstep catapulted him to the top of the leaderboard this week. The judges liked it so much they chose the routine for the encore. Evan started out strong in this competition and is only getting better. That mirror ball trophy might just have his name on it.


Chad Ochocinco
His bullfighting-themed paso doble was certainly more successful than last week's foxtrot, but Chad still has a ways to go. The judges have commented repeatedly on his posture and frame, so let's hope he can take their coaching to heart.


Pamela Anderson
Her anti-bullfighting paso doble probably won't find its way into a PETA ad, but it wasn't a bad routine. The judges had nice things to say, and Pam must have gotten more votes this week. Let's hope she can keep it up.


Kate Gosselin
Emotional intensity usually seems to pay off on the show, but not in Kate's case. Her angry paso doble was stiff, off-rhythm and just generally bad. She looks so uncomfortable out on the dance floor that she's painful to watch.


Jake Pavelka
The "Bachelor" star turned in a campy and surprisingly energetic quickstep. For the first time he even looked like he was having fun out on the floor ... which is ironic, considering that he and Chelsie landed in the bottom two. Let's hope Jake's fans will turn out for him next week.

Tonight on Dancing with the Stars: the nine couples take on the sexy, steamy, oh-so-dreamy dances of looooove, tango and rumba. And style always counts, but tonight it's literal: each couple will get separate scores for footwork and flair. It's the "DOUBLE SCORE SHOWDOWN"!

Wondering who's dancing what? We'll tell you!

While we wait for the real action to start, allow me to point you to your DWTS required reading for the week: Maksim Chmerkovskiy's blog over at TV Guide is extra long, extra juicy and extra angry (justifiably, I'd say) about one journalist's claim that Erin Andrews is acting like a "bimbo" by going on this "fluff" TV show we all adore. Go get 'em, Maks! And you should go read his thoughts. Reason #3,490,123 to love Maks: He doesn't hold back. (Reason #1: Look at him!)

So, my questions of the evening to get the comments ball a-rollin':
- Will Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya hold on to the top of the leader board?
- How will Kate Gosselin perform--or should I say cope?--with the tango?
- Will Pam's rumba be too scandalous for primetime? (I, for one, am hoping so.)

We'll find it all out, and more, because here come the Week 4 performances of Dancing with the Stars season 10 ... Liiiiiive!

It's "passion night," says Brooke Burke. And it looks like passion translates into skin, in terms of costumes. Edyta and Pam are skimpy and slinky tonight: watch out for wardrobe malfunctions ...

First, the judges sit around a dimly lit table for a mafia-don-esque discussion of the nine stars and their weak points, and what they're looking for in tonight's tangos and rumbas. Each dance also has required elements that the judges will watch for. With the tango, they want to see: Viennese Cross, Outside Swivel and Contra Check.

And, speaking of tango, up first ...


Erin Andrews & Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Dancing: Tango
Song: "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)"

Judges Say: "The start was brilliant. This was a full-on tango. You came out and really worked hard. Get onto your heels." - Len
"You started it very, very well. Flamboyant, aggressive like a murderess. Then you went wrong." - Bruno
"Your performance suffered because you were too focused on technique. You're a really beautiful dancer but I think the technique got the best of you." - Carrie Ann

I Say: Amazing classic 80's song, but not quite an iconic tango. After last week's blindfolded sexiness that Len criticized for not being enough waltz, Maks and Erin encountered the opposite problem: this tango, and Erin, suffered under the technical requirements, and ended up more like a series of moves than an overall artistic or emotional performance.

Evan Lysacek & Anna Trebunskaya

Song: "Wait a Minute"

Judges Say: "Strong, powerful, with a hint of cut(?)-like arrogance." - Bruno
"That technique was amazing and the performance, I love. What a perfect blend of technique and performance." - Carrie Ann
"You nailed the Viennese cross, and as always, great performance." - Len

I Say: Sexy, but still technically rigorous, that tango had a modern twist and more passion that the previous, and was also visibly sharper in the details. The choreography dragged just a bit in the middle, but, physically, Evan and Anna never did, and that opening with the chair? H-O-T. ("Hello, top of leader board! Nice to see you again!" - Team Evanna)

Technique: 9+8+9=26
Performance: 9+8+9=26

Here's what the judges want to see in tonight's rumbas: it's the dance of love, but the couples should be careful to go sexy, not raunchy. (Lookin' at you, Pam!) And it's a slow dance, so they need to make it passionate and "regal." The moves to watch for: Opening out to the right and left, sliding doors and ... ? Oops, I missed it.


Niecy Nash & Louis van Amstel
Dancing: Rumba
Song: "Taking Chances"

Judges Say: "Beautiful arms, lovely musicality. I would have liked to see some more hips. There were no highlights going on. It was all on one level." - Len
"You looked like you were in a trance, my darling. It didn't gel." Bruno
"I felt the emotional connection you had to the dance. It's so internal, it didn't read well in the dance. In your mind you might have been dancing bigger than we saw." - Carrie Ann

I Say: Louis, who calls this a very "spiritual dance," dedicated their performance to Niecy's brother, who was murdered 17 years ago. So, naturally, they already got me teary-eyed before the dance even started. And THEN they chose one of my fave Celine Dion songs (and Glee covers!), so I was predisposed to love this routine. Unfortunately, while the emotion was there, but the technical "wow" factor wasn't. However, I don't think the dance was as bad as the judges think--well, maybe they didn't say "bad," but I certainly felt some gelling.

Aiden Turner & Edyta Sliwinska
Dancing: Rumba
Song: "Live Like We're Dyin'"

Judges Say: "I definitely felt that you were more comfortable out there. You did a lot of movement generating from the shoulders. Generated from the wrong place." - Carrie Ann
"You acted out the dance, but to be honest there was no flow to it. It was all stop and start, no musicality. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, you've come out and done that." - Len
"The Blue Steel was good ... the problem was when you started dancing it was like stop-motion animation. It has to flow, it has to be continuous, and that did not happen." - Bruno

I Say: Aiden brought his sexy soap stud persona out to play for this rumba, and Edyta's showing some major skin. Unfortunately for them, the sexy acting didn't translate into a technically sharp rumba, and the "flow" didn't come down from Aiden's face into his hips. But it wasn't all bad: his comfort level was up, and his stiffness level was down. I may not know much, but I still thought it was entertaining!

Nicole Scherzinger & Derek Hough

Song: "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face"

Judges Say: "Beautiful to watch, always, but tonight you were a bit hesitant. There were a few stumbles. Give me a little bit more sex." - Bruno
"You were nervous tonight. Your ankles were quivering. You seemed a bit out of sorts. I liked the traditional lines." - Carrie Ann
"You got the balance correct between the technique and performance. It is a really tough dance. The sliding doors: your arms got over-exaggerated a bit. But you're a great dancer and a wonderful performer." - Len

I Say: As you'll recall, last week Len shook his finger at these two for ditching the rules and going for vaudeville. Well, could that have been more different? This was technical to a T, and still never lost the oomph. Lyrical, sensual and beautiful, even though Nicole seems to be suffering under the weight of high expectations: hers and the judges'. At least they're more forgiving with the scores ...

Song: "Never Met a Girl Like You Before"

Judges Say: "You attacked the dance. The spirit of tango, giving it plenty. Because of that aggression and attack, you had a couple of incidents. The attitude was great." - Len
"You throw in a lot of energy, tonight was very, very, very messy. You lost your posture. Your footwork was questionable. It's got to be clean." - Bruno
"You're still dancing your own dance, you're not quite connected emotionally and physically. You were really into it. I liked the way it came across. Very focused." - Carrie Ann

I Say: Hmm ... I think that big ol' smile says it all. Jake went a little over the top, and his enthusiasm leaked all the way down to his feet, which tripped him up (literally, once) in their frenzy to keep up. The judges liked his attitude, but I found it more 'happy-go-lucky' than 'passionate,' which took me out of the moment ... and kind of made me laugh. Probably not the reaction they were going for.

"Tony, you've done a good job bringing Kate to do her best dance so far." - Len

I Say: Sorry, Kate. You still looked like you were walking through most of this routine. The problems (musicality, stiffness, personality) are still there, but it was still tons better than last week! So I'll stop talking now. Whatever I think, I'm sure you know what you think.

Chad Ochocinco & Cheryl Burke

Judges Say: "You definitely turned on the heat, and of all the dances, this is your best dance by miles. The hip action was ... DAMN!" - Carrie Ann
"Improvement in the posture, improvement in the performance, your best dance. Well done." - Len
"Cheryl, what have you been doing this week? The hunk is SMOLDERING tonight! Those hips were alive. You were fluid. You sustained the lines. Very few men do that, and I commend you for it." - Bruno

I Say: A little rough and jerky at those points where he needed to drag and pull Cheryl around, but this rumba was more romantic than I anticipated, and Chad had as much to do with it as Cheryl did this time around. He was sensual and fluid through every limb, yet controlled. I think that ring Chad gave Cheryl is actually the end of a leash, because she whipped him into shape this week.

Pamela Anderson & Damian Whitewood

Judges Say: "It was understated, it had a sophistication. The spiral was very, very good. Well done, great dance." - Len
"Pamela Anderson can do refinement and elegance and still be drop-dead sexy. Technically, the best dance you've ever done." - Bruno
"Beautiful sophistication. I felt something profound happening. Something was happening a little strange with your arms. But other than that, well done." - Carrie Ann

I Say: Pam's task tonight was to make her movement more refined, and I think she got most of the way there. The slowness of the rumba and her sultry look made her seem a little sleepy at times, but more often it was a tender and luxurious partnership of movement. Very intimate, but not raunchy. (Well, besides those splits at the end.)

That's it for Dancing with the Stars: Passion Night! What did you think of the couples' tangos and rumbas?

Once again, Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya hit the top of the leader board, but Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough were hot on their tail ... and I do mean hot. No one should be shocked to see these front-runners take hold again, but my award for Happiest Surprise goes to Chad Ochocinco. He earned those 8's, and I hope there are more to come. He's growing on me, on the dance floor and in those intro packages. And it looks like Cheryl's warming up to him as well ...

And how about Kate? She's at the bottom of the board, but got plenty of encouragement from the judges. Is a little improvement good enough to keep her in the running? Will one of the struggling leading men (Jake and Aiden) get the ax rather than the controversial mom of eight? Whatever your opinion, she sure makes this season more intense.

So who was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars April 13, 2010? Here's your Dancing with the Stars week 4 results. During the DWTS show, The Bachelor Jake Pavelka and his partner learned they were safe this week, as did Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger and her partner. Pamela Anderson also breathed a sigh of relief to learn she and her dance partner were not in the bottom of the bunch. From there, we saw an interesting ballerina contemporary and hip hop dance routine. The music dance performance was given by Tiler Peck and Nuttin but Stringz (Damien and Tourie Escobar).

After break Sade performed her hit song "Sweetest Taboo" as dancers showed some smooth operator moves on the dancefloor to accompany her. Brook Burke interviewed Kate Gosselin and Tony backstage, as well as Chad Ochocino and dance partner Cheryl Burke. Kate told her partner she loved him and all he's done for her.

We learned of more safe couples. Erin Andrews and Max were announced next. Kate Gosselin, Niecy Nash and Aiden Turner were all tense on stage as they awaited the final announcement. Who would be the one eliminated this week? Time for a commercial to build the suspense.

After the final break, we came back with our 3 couples on stage nervously awaiting the final decision. Surprisingly, once again Kate Gosselin was spared from elimination, leaving the decision to be either Niecy Nash or Aiden Turner going home. The final vote was revealed, with Aiden and Edyta receiving the lowest vote total. So Aiden Turner will head home after several weeks on the dancefloor. Aiden said he gave it his all each week, and had the best time dancing with Edyta. It was also noteworthy that upon learning of the final Dancing with the Stars week 4 results, the audience all stood to give a warm round of applause to Aiden Turner for his dancing attempts.

AUGH, I so wanted Kate to go home.

Dancing With The Stars, Season 10, Week 5 - Dance Night, Apr 19th.

- Nicole Scherzinger puts on a near perfect performance to be tonight's top celebrity, overtaking Evan Lysacek who puts on a second ranked performance.
- Bachelor Jake captures third place.
- Niecy & Louis and Chad & Cheryl are tied for second lowest this week.
- Kate Gosselin has the lowest score. She just look like she's walking in time to music. As the saying goes, she's "Done like Dinner!"

It's movie night on Dancing with the Stars, so I thought it fitting to pick a movie title as my headline, and one that reflects what we're about to see in tonight's performance show: the eight remaining stars, many of whom are quite long-legged (and love to show it off, ahem, Erin Andrews), are about to get freaky out on the dance floor with an assortment of jives, quicksteps, cha-chas, tangos, foxtrots and rumbas, all inspired by iconic films.

So before I get nasty comments: no, I am not calling any of your beloved stars "freaks," and none of them have eight legs ... although, coincidentally, Kate Gosselin has eight kids and about as many lives (when it comes to DWTS eliminations). And I think that Chad Ochocinco and Pamela Anderson have both proven that getting freaky is one of their specialties. Wink, wink.

"There was so much going on on the upper decks, it was difficult to look at anything else. It has to be accurate and precise. It did lack the necessary sharpness for this stage in the competition." - Bruno
"You are the shimmy queen!" - Carrie Ann

I Say: Fun, bright and full of movement, just like Niecy's yellow, fringed, boobalicious leotard! These two were so vivacious that Louis lost his own footing a bit, but what this dance lacked in sharpness it made up for with personality. Dancing is about having fun, and Niecy just knows how to spread the joy.

Scores: 6+6+6=18


Chad & Cheryl
Dancing: quickstep
Movie: Jungle Book ("Bear Necessities")

Judges Say: "It was a little bit too wild. You went for the energy and lost the control. Your hold was terrible." - Bruno
"It was strange. It's very uneven. What was lacking the most that stood out was the body contact." - Carrie Ann
"It was bright and lively. Your posture has improved. Overall you did your best, overall it was a pretty good job." - Len

I Say: Chad has a naturally quick foot and tall carriage, but the dance got away from him just a bit in the details. Inconsistent, yes, but still enjoyable to watch.

Erin & Maksim
Dancing: jive
Movie: Pulp Fiction ("You Never Can Tell")

Judges Say: "I liked it. You delivered the story. You seemed a little fast, ahead of Maks, anticipating everything." - Carrie Ann
"It was a tough routine, you coped with that very well. It got a little hectic, but overall you did a really good job." - Len
"Erin, you got that Uma-magic just right, mama, don't worry. I counted all the way through, this is your best timing ever. A breakthrough." - Bruno

I Say: This was a complicated jive full of story, kicks and even the splits! Erin held her own with Maks-YUM, but Carrie was right to call out her overzealous ankles, which were working overtime to keep up with this speedy routine. Just an issue of complexity, not lack of talent, I'd say--another week to practice and I think she would have had it down pat.

Jake & Chelsie
Dancing: cha-cha
Movie: Risky Business ("Old Time Rock 'n' Roll")

Judges Say: "You come out 100%, you give it your all, you full-on try. It was fun, it was a pity you messed up. There was just that little incident. But great fun." - Len
"You cheeky bugger, why did you put your pants on? Your energy was incredible. There's got to be a day when you don't go wrong. Cheeky, funny, great cha-cha." - Bruno
"You got the guts, so you better enjoy the glory. I loved that dance!" - Carrie Ann

I Say: Unlike Bruno, I'm actually glad that Jake put those pants on! (Those white thighs, those tighty whities ... awkward.) And I'm also glad that I'm finding myself slowly, slooowly, coming around to enjoying his performances. He's becoming more natural and relaxed--before, his energy felt forced, but tonight it was good, not-so-clean-but-that's-okay fun. Well deserved high scores for performance and bravery. Now, to work on: precision.

I Say: Funnily enough ... I'm with Len! Pam and Damian were quickstepping up a storm, but we were robbed of some time thanks to their lengthy skit-like intro. Regardless, the dancing was lively and bouncy, and I loved the part where they danced across the table and chairs. Pam definitely picked the right career field, because she's a born entertainer.

I Say: Well, Kate said she was alright with being the eternal underdog, and she made good on that concession. She was doing the moves, but I wish she had downed about five Red Bulls beforehand. The excuses for her lack of energy are wearing thin, and so are the judges, who are losing their patience for her lack of progress. I mean, what could be worse than hearing your dancing looks like this: Wommm, wommm, wommmm...

When she wows me like that, I'm both so pleased that she's on this show ... and further convinced that she's too talented to be on this show. Either way, let me repeat: WOW.

I Say: Evan's dancing is so impressive in its elegant lines and artistic finesse ... even more so when we see that half the week he's practicing his figure skating! This was an emotionally evocation routine, despite the fact that this song has been trampled to death under a giant cliched cheese-ball. And for that, Evan earns even more bonus points from me!

Well, that's it for Week 5 performances. What did you think of "Movie Night"? In Ebert-speak, I give it ... one and a half thumbs up! Mostly great dancing, accompanied by mostly played-out songs given a fresh twist. And one almost-perfect score! Leave it to Len to throw a wrench into the mix--but mark my words, Nicole and Derek will earn a 10 from him before they leave the show. I'm willing to bet Jake Pavelka's pants on it!

Once again, Evan and Nicole take the top two spots on the leader board, with Kate, the "eternal underdog," keeping her place firmly at the bottom. Last night on Dancing with the Stars: The elite eight and their pro partners put forth a variety of dances inspired by iconic films, but only a few routines managed to live up to their lofty visions.

Kate Gosselin blamed her kids for her too-tired-to-bother "Breakfast Club" foxtrot, while Chad Ochocinco took a step back with a quickstep that barely managed the "Bare Necessities." On the other end of the quality spectrum, Evan Lysacek evaded "Armageddon" with an inspired rumba, and Nicole Scherzinger was a "Pretty Woman" with a near-perfect tango.

Tonight: The sun will set on one star and his/her pro partner, as America's votes and the judges' scores will combine once more to form the axe that will cut the fat for next week's Top 7 show.

Tony gives Kate props for showing up and giving her best every week despite criticism. He's very proud. (And will go home and celebrate later.) She's fighting back tears as she says, "I'm very, very honored to have been here." Whether you love her, hate her or just plain didn't want to watch her attempt to dance any longer, it's a sweet moment to behold, watching someone who's usually so hard-mouthed and stoic let her emotions boil over and show that she really did learn something from this experience.

Monday night on the 6th week of competition on ABC's Dancing With the Stars, the 7 remaining couples danced either the Samba or the Argentine Tango. And as an added bonus, all of the couples competed in a swing dance marathon. So how did the dance routines go on the April 26^th performance episode of DWTS?

But first, pro dancer Derek Hough had nothing but praise for last week's ousted competitor, reality mom Kate Gosselin. According to People, Hough praised Gosselin, saying, " She represented all those mothers at home with their kids that watch the show that think 'I would love to do that.' She lived it and they lived through her experience." Hough also added, "She was fantastic."

With Gosselin gone, Judges Bruno Tonioli, Len Goodman and Carrie Ann Inaba channeled their harshest criticism at a surprising celeb dancer.

Here are the results of the performances for Week 6 this week on Dancing With the Stars:

Jake Pavelka and Chelsie Hightower . The Bachelor star said he was "ready to close the gap" between himself and frontrunners Nicole Sherzinger and Evan Lycasek. Len acknowledged Jake's performance was "more polished" than usual and Bruno noted "The pelvic gyrations... you were very comfortable with {that}."

Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya. After a concussion scare at practice, the Olympic skater danced a tad too lyrically for Bruno. Carrie Ann was even more of a downer, saying "You lost the battle with the samba". The critics were especially harsh on Lysacek this week, perhaps saving some of that pent up Kate Gosselin criticism for someone new.

Niecy Nash and Louis Van Amstel. The comedian and her partner spoofed t5eh tango with a food theme, which prompted Len to say to Nash, IT's obvious you're an enthusiastic eater." Carrie Ann called her "in the zone".

Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Len chewed out the ESPN correspondent's partner, Maks, for this one, chastising Erin for her middle of the road scores and saying, "Come out and give me a proper dance".

Chad Ochocinco and Cheryl Burke. The football pro and his partner sassed things up, which prompted Carrie Ann to declare, "You nailed it."

Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough. Frontrunners perhaps, but even this hot couple didn't escape the wrath of Len this week. Len called their samba "a hodgepodge of sexy moves and gyrations". But Bruno and Carrie Ann loved it!

Pamela Anderson and Damian Whitewood . The Baywatch star may be sick of being in the Bottom 2, so she gave this week's dance her all, even donning a brunette wig. Len gave her dance overall good praise, while Bruno applauded her characterization.

The Swing Dance Competition

This week the couples capped off the evening with a 3 minute Swing Dance competition. The judges voted couples out and the last couple standing earned the highest score of an extra 10 points. Here's the order in which the stars were voted off the dance floor and the number of extra points that each couple received.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 10, Week 6: ‘You’re an Enthusiastic Eater’

In week six, the “Dancing with the Stars” contestants battled it out on stage using foot and hand coordination for the Argentine tango or the sexy samba. It was a night of food jokes and other zingers as the remaining contestants fought for the right to dance. After losing former competitor Kate Gosselin, the dance competition was down to seven and at the half-way point inching closer to the end.

To start, Jake Pavelka tackled the samba taking some criticism for lacking rhythm during his performance. Jake was praised for his potential but criticized for his inability to flow. With the latter being the most important part of a dance competition, we’re not sure why the former “Bachelor” star didn’t get a much lower score. The star received a 21 out of 30 for his performance, which undoubtedly demonstrated his comfort on the stage but not his proficiency with the dance.

Meanwhile, his competitor Evan Lysacek took to the samba like a fish in water despite a back flipping head injury while rehearsing with partner Anna Trebunskaya. A slight concussion couldn’t stop the Olympian’s mastery of the sexy, hip-swiveling moves — even if the judges don’t agree with us viewers at home. “It’s all very beautiful but not appropriate for this,” said judge Bruno. When you get criticism for being “far too poetic” in your dance moves, keep those tear ducts dry and smile. You did good! The judges gave Evan an identical score as Jake with 21 out 30 points — his lowest score — because it seems the expectations are higher for the more graceful dancer.

Niecy Nash worked on controlling her feet and minimizing her “feminine wiles” for the Argentine tango. “It’s obvious you’re an enthusiastic eater,” says Len. Ouch! What was supposed to be a compliment came across as an unconscious dig from judge Len who awarded Niecy 7 points, bringing her total to 21 out of 30 for her humorous take on the tango.

Len took his foot out of his mouth for the next performance, vocally expressing his dislike for Erin Andrews‘ routine. The judge chided her dance partner for the props and skin that has become a weekly part of the duo’s routines. “You come out and show me a proper dance, I’m fed up with shirts coming off,” he said. The ESPN host scored a 25 out of 30 for the samba — getting nines from two of the three judges. In this case, we’re siding with Len. Erin Andrews should be competing with the likes of Nicole and, for that, we need a little less burlesque and a lot more flow. The blindfolds and semi-nudity are unnecessary at this point. Perhaps, she was distracted by the bands performance of Robin Thicke’s “When I Get You Alone” because the cover tunes are definitely distracting when performed by the house band.

Chad Chococino took the lead in the Argentine tango, one of his better performances as a leading man. The foot work and posture notably improved from previous weeks in the competition. He’s improving before our eyes. We were on the same page as the judges this go ’round. The Bengals player received his highest score of 24 out of 30.

Nicole Scherzinger stepped into dance teacher mode versus student while in rehearsal preparing for the samba routine. We’re not sure who’s teaching who but it’s paying off. The star received criticism from one judge who said the samba was missing a few key elements, like the Boto-Foga but that didn’t stop her from receiving the top score of the night with a 26 out of 30.

And, then came Pamela Anderson, who was fighting to escape from the bottom two with the Argentine tango. The former “Baywatch” actor does her best acting when on the dance floor, and her 22 out of 30 kept her from turning the score of 21 into a four way tie. Brava.

Then a second round began. This time, the competitors had to do Swing dance marathon. The question: Who would be the last couple standing in the marathon that could earn contestants as much as 10 extra points?

Here’s how they left the stage: Jake (4), Niecy (5), Evan (6), Chad (7), Pamela (8), Erin (9), Nicole (10)

At the end, with Erin and Nicole battling it out for style and stamina in the last round, we couldn’t help but think this was a glimpse of the of the finale. When Erin gives her all, she’’s one of the few competing with the top dance talent Nicole. What do you think?

The scores (harsh, for some, as they may have been) are in, and so are the votes. Tonight, another couple will see their Mirrorball Trophy dreams go up in smoke.

Who's going home? Well, it's clear who you, the BuddyTV buddies, think will be shown the door. According to your votes last night and this morning, 43% think Jake is the worst dancer, with Niecy close behind at 31%. And you have faith that America will vote for talent, not over-enthusiasm or jiggly parts, because 46% of you think Jake will get the boot, with Niecy again close behind with 23%.

If you're just joining us today, allow me to point you to what you may have missed since last night's samba and swing exhibition: Maks called Len "too old" (and "one billion percent wrong"), I thought Erin's purple feather duster was delightful (but some of you disagree, which is fine, although you are wrong), and, for the first time this season, someone who isn't Nicole or Evan hit #1 in my Performance Rankings (where, again, some of you disagree, but that's what's great about America/anonymous comment threads: we're all entitled to our opinions, wrong as they may be).

In fact, if these disagreements teach us anything, it's that Dancing with the Stars is one heck of a subjective show, with something (and someone) for everyone, and there's just no telling who will get the high points and the big votes! Which makes these Results Shows so exciting. And nerve-wracking.

Even more exciting about tonight's show? Melissa Etheridge is here to sing "Come to My Window," and world-class Flamenco/Spanish guitarist Benise will play "Salsa Salsa." One song I know all too well, and one song I know not at all. See? Something for everyone!

Now, on to the show ... "Liiiiiiiive!"

Tom and Brooke give their recap: Last night saw a leader board shake-up, with Nicole joined by Chad and Erin toward the top of the board, while Evan fell alongside Jake and Niecy at the bottom.

Results
The first SAFE couple: Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. (Good work, America! You saved the shirtless wonder and his sassy, improving partner.)

Then Len gives his stodgy but supreme recap: Nicole and Derek were "all sizzle but no sausage" (is that a jab at "little Derek"?), and Evan "fell from heaven." Jake gives "100 percent commitment" (which Len likes) and Pam isn't precise in her footwork (which he doesn't). Niecy interrupts Len to ask what he thought of her dance, and he says he "thoroughly enjoyed" her tango despite his dislike for "gags." Chad and Erin were the "breakout pair of the night," and Chad's tango was Len's favorite dance of the evening.

Encore, Encore!
Chad and Cheryl perform their Argentine tango once again, proving that Maks may not like it, but what Len says goes.

Melissa Etheridge performs the title track of her new album, "Fearless Love." Tony Dovolani's back to dance with Chelsie Hightower, joined by Maks and Anna on the floor as well.

Special Segment: Sports Science analyzes the physical movements of Dmitry and Edyta. They strap each dancer with wireless data-collecting bio-strap thingies to track the strength, balance and precision it takes to be a master ballroom dancer. The result? Behold, Edyta in The Matrix:

They also discovered that Dmitry and Edyta could hit the same moves with such precision that their average time difference was less than the time it takes for a hummingbird to flap its wings. Crazy!

Melissa Etheridge performs "Come to my Window" as the lovely couple Edyta Sliwinska and Alec Mazo dance.

Celeb Spotting: Sam Neill (of Jurassic Park awesomeness and Happy Town unfortunate decision-making) is sitting in the front row tonight.

Monday night on Week 7 of ABC's Dancing With the Stars, the 6 remaining couples performed two dance routines-- their individual dances and the once-a-season team dance, the Cha Cha Challenge. So were this week's dances

Judges Bruno Tonioli, Len Goodman and Carrie Ann Inaba were in a generous mood Monday night, as they doled out plenty of high scores and even a set of perfect 10's.

Here are the results of the performances for Week 7 on Dancing With the Stars:

Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
After being reprimanded by Len last week for losing his shirt, Maks went a step further this week and took off his pants- only to have another pair of pants underneath! Erin and Maks performed an energetic quickstep and the judges loved it. Len said, "Erin, without a doubt your best dance" and Bruno said it was "lightening fast and brighter than Len's tie."

Chad Ochocinco and Cheryl Burke
Chad and Cheryl pulled off a graceful and beautiful waltz, which prompted Bruno to call the football pro a "gentle giant". Carrie Ann gushed, 'There is nothing sexier than watching a man find out how to be tender and graceful." But it was Len who gave Chad the biggest compliment of all, saying, "Remember this night, May 3, 2010, the night you became a contender.":

Nicole and Derek danced a beautiful waltz to the tune of 'You Light Up My Life", a song that is close to Nicole's heart. Carrie Ann dubbed Scherzinger, "by far the best dancer we've ever had on the show." Bruno called her "dancing royalty"

Niecy Nash and Louis Van Amstel. Comedian Niecy Nash and her partner Louis Van Amstel may have lost some practice time this week. Louis Tweeted earlier in the day that he had food poisoning on Sunday. Luckily he recovered in time for Monday's show! No one seemed sick when the pair danced their quickstep. Bruno touted it Nash's best dance to date and the other judges agreed. After getting her best total score of the season (including a 9!), Nash screamed, "I can dance!"

Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya
After performing a sexy and saucy tango, the Olympic skater was given his best scores to date. Carrie told him he had "the eye of the tiger" and Bruno said he danced like a true alpha male, conquering his territory. Len dropped the hint, "I have a paddle here that I haven't used yet and I'm gonna dust it off." And dust it off he did. Evan and Anna received perfect 10's tonight.

The Cha Cha Challenge Competition
Next up was the Cha Cha Challenge, where the stars danced in teams for an additional score. The Cha Cha Challenge score was added to their individual dance scores this week. The 2 teams for the Cha Cha Challenge were:

Team Gaga: Nicole, Derek, Chad, Cheryl, Pam and Damien
Team Madonna: Erin, Maks, Evan , Anna, Niecy and Louis

Team Gaga danced their cha cha to Lady Gaga's "Telephone" while Team Madonna danced to Madonna's "Holiday" .

While both team dances were a good effort, Team Gaga blew away Team Madonna. The judges commented on the sexual energy of the Gaga team, and they had frontrunner Scherzinger which didn't hurt them. Team Gaga received a total score of 27/ 30.

Team Madonna had a disadvantage based on their outfits alone- the girls looked like Madonna circa 1984. Still, Bruno told Erin she was "into the groove" and Carrie Ann called their team dance "a lot of fun". Team Madonna received a score of 24/ 30.

It's results night on Dancing with the Stars, which means 59 minutes of filler and one cruel cut. Evan, Chad, Erin and Niecy all had their season high scores last night while Nicole and Pamela were both helped by being on the winning team in the Cha-Cha Challenge, so it's certain this cut will be hard.

Results, Part 1:

See, that's what happens when Maks keeps his clothes on. Len Goodman is an idiot. We could be in store for a big shock if a couple that scored a 27 in the individual dance goes home. However, I'd like to point out that Erin and Maks were my least favorite individual performance of the night, so clearly America agrees with me.

Encore - Team Gaga:

The Team Gaga Cha-Cha-Cha is the encore, but Pamela Anderson has an injury, so Chelsie Hightower is stepping in. Ah, so that's what it's supposed to look like. Pamela was the absolute worst part of Team Gaga, so replacing her with a pro is great in my book. I really hated Pamela last night, because if Team Gaga did this last night, it would've been a lot higher in my performance rankings.

Pamela Anderson is sad she didn't get to do the encore, but she promises to aggravate her injured leg tomorrow if she stays in the competition. To win, Niecy Nash is willing to have a "wardrobe malfunction." I strangely want to see Niecy and Pamela on a buddy cop sitcom. I would call it Jiggly Force.

I'm sad since she was very entertaining, but since I predicted it, I'm happy too. I guess all those housewives who watch this show still resent the fact that their husbands used to fantasize about her all the time. She's very poised and polite during her final interview, not a total crying wuss like a certain Bachelor was last week.
